Jivdani Temple
Maa Jivdani temple is located on the Jivdani hill in Virar. It is the most significant landmark in Virar
located on the mountain. It is famous throughtout the country for its only temple of Goddess Jivdani
which is located around 1375 steps above the ground level,atop a hill in the eastern part of the cty. The
150-year-old Jivdani Temple at Virar, attracts thousands of devotees on Sundays and during festivals.
The Papadkhandi dam situated at the foothills, was one of the major sources of fresh water in the
location, but is not enogh because of the growing population of Virar. With an awesome view on all four
sides, this mountain is also a place for Para gliders with paragliding activities in some seasons.

The nearest station to reach Jeevdani temple is Virar station and it is at a distance of 2 km from Virar station. There is at least a 10 minute walk. Rickshaws and buses are available from Virar station. There are many trains running from Dahanu and Mumbai.
